25 Times a Second

A feast in a time of plague.

It’s funny—the eighty bucks I just spent on books and manga at Amazon this AM last year would undoubtedly have gone to spending on videogames. I’ve really quite happily thrown off the shackles of the overpriced AAA corporate timewaster for 2009. A few hours spent on freebies each week is more than enough opportunity cost spent on that pastime for me, I think. No more grinding. No more 15 hour stories that aren’t worth fifteen minutes. A little Flash here, a little Unity there, maybe a downloadable or two just to spice things up. Brave new (cheap) world. I don’t know why it took me so long to cotton to what a ripoff a sixty buck game really is at heart. For me, at least. Your mileage may vary.
